Turbo Tigers Winter Session
We are offering a beginner-friendly introduction to Tai Chi and Kung Fu for kids, ages 6-12.
The goal for new kids is to give them a "sampler" of what Kung Fu has to offer, including mindfulness, stretching, balance, martial arts basics, forms, self-defense, sparring, and (if we have time) weapons. And, of course, have fun!
The goal for established students is to help them sharpen up their forms as well as offer them some new material that is not usually available to kids until they reach the adult classes.
Some info to get everyone started:
Parking
There is a metered parking lot behind the building. There are free spots on the far side of the parking lot near the movie theater. You're welcome to enter through the back entrance, which we share with Roasted Peppers. You are welcome to come through either the front or back door. You may drop the kids off or stay and watch. Arrival is 8:45-9am.
Clothing & Food
Kids should wear loose comfortable clothing like they'd wear to gym class. Please bring a clean pair of shoes to change into at the school. I will have t-shirts for each of the kids that they're welcome to wear to the camp. Masks are optional, I have kid-sized masks at the school. Kids should bring a snack and a water bottle. We have kids with severe food allergies, so absolutely no nuts, no exceptions.
Sashes
Special sashes (Kung Fu belts) will be given Friday before the kids leave. Students who have attended previous Turbo Tigers classes will receive the next color. Please feel free to come by around 11:30am to see some board-breaking and a presentation of their sashes and certificates.
Pick-Up
Please pick the kids up promptly at 12. Friday particularly, as there is another class at the school immediately following the Kung Fu class.
