Oxford Grand Opening & Lion Awakening Ceremony ~ December 7th 2024

Shi Fu Gregg Zilb performs the Lion Awakening Ceremony

Saturday December 7th, students of the Maynard and Oxford schools gathered at Shifu Gary’s new location in Oxford, where we were joined by Shifu Gregg Zilb and his lion dancing team from Authentic Shaolin Kung Fu.

Shifu Gregg’s team performed a lion dance to bless the new Massachusetts school, and Shifu Gregg also performed the Awakening Ceremony on the Maynard school’s new lions, imbuing them with the power to bring blessings and good luck to the school.

After, we shared food together and also had several performances of Kung Fu and Tai Chi from all three schools. It was a very joyous occasion and a wonderful opportunity to witness an important Chinese cultural tradition. We are very grateful to Shifu Gregg and his students for making the trip up to Massachusetts from New York to support us, and we congratulate Shifu Gary, Shifu Cheyenne, and Simo Mary Beth on the new location, which they put a lot of work into.
