Congratulations to our students and instructors who competed in the Second Annual New York Liberty Kung Fu Cup, hosted by our Si Tai Gung 师太公 Raul Ortiz. We’re quite proud of our students who travelled to New York all the way from Massachusetts and held their own against strong competition.

We thank Sigung Gregg and his students for welcoming us into their Kung Fu family.

The experience of competing is more important than winning a medal - the experience of choosing to build courage through testing yourself against other people. It's not easy, most choose not to do it. But these students all chose to walk into the ring and put themselvesselves and their Kung Fu out there in front of strangers. That takes huge heart.

We thank the parents who supported their kids by paying for this tournament and driving the kids from the Boston area all the way down to Long Island NY. Craig, Karyn, Arun, and Vidhya: even though none of you do Kung Fu, the very significant amounts of time, energy, and money you pour into your kids' training not only will yield the kids long-term benefits in regards to their academic careers, their eventual professional lives, and (most importantly) their emotional well-being, it will help to keep Kung Fu thriving in our communities. There wouldn't BE Kung Fu, especially here in the US, without parents like you.
