Kids Kung Fu Ranking with Sifu Gary
Monday December 19th, 4:30PM
Children and Juniors will rank together. Sign-offs must be completed prior to the ranking in order for students to receive their next sashes. Sash fees are $35.00. A ranking is a special event, please feel free to bring friends and family, and take plenty of pictures and video!

Chinese New Year 2017
Thursday January 26th - Monday January 30th
Adult Kung Fu students are welcome to join us for our yearly road trip to Virginia for our annual Chinese New Year Celebration. We'll be staying on Virgnia Beach, and we will spend 3 days practicing Kung Fu with Sigung and Sifu Sara, as well as our friends from the Auburn and Virginia schools. The fee for the trip can be paid online at the school store. Please see Sihing for more information.

Red Envelope Collection
In the months leading up to Chinese New Year, we will be collecting money for red envelopes for Sifu Gary and Sigung. The two most important events in a Kung Fu school are Chinese New Year and your teacher's birthday! Traditionally, the students will chip in together to get a nice gift for their instructor. However, since Sigung and Sifu Gary's schools are already packed with years' worth of gifts, we are going to take the simple route and present each of them with a red envelope. Red envelopes (红包 - "hóngbāo" in Mandarin) are monetary gifts given between families and communities in China during celebrations and holidays like birthdays, weddings, and Chinese New Year. The color red is good luck and helps to ward off evil spirits. Much like the collection baskets at a church, participation is not mandatory, and any amount of money is acceptable, whether it's $1 or $100; it's the thought that counts!
