9 Keys to Courage: Courage is developed with experience and practice

No person on this planet was ever born with courage. Courage is not a gift, it is a reward for breaking through the barrier of fear.

A lot of people feel that babies are born with a lot of courage, because they will try anything. The fact is that they are born without fear; that is why they will try anything. As we grow older and wiser from life's experiences, we develop some fears which create barriers that can be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to break through. This is where real courage is needed.

Sometimes we have to practice something a lot and get a sense of experiencing it before we have the courage to attempt it. It is like preparing yourself for a competition: you need to practice for it and get the experience of performing in front of a large crowd before you go to the actual competition.

Therefore, we should develop courage from our diligent practice and the experience we gain from such practice.
