Happy September! Read on for what’s happening at Metrowest Kung Fu in September:
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first in-house tournament. We had a blast sharing our Kung Fu with our Kung Fu brothers and sisters from the Auburn school. Results are available here. Photos are coming soon!
Labor Day: Monday September 5th
We will be closed for Labor Day. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Now available: Yoga Punch Cards!
Yoga students may purchase a punch card with 10 classes for $90. The school and/or instructors are not responsible for replacing lost cards. Students may still pay per class or monthly. Beginning October 1st, we will be increasing the prices of our yoga classes. Drop-ins will cost $15 per class, punch cards will cost $120 for 10 classes, and the monthly pass will remain $100 per month. See Sihing, Sara, or Katina with any questions or concerns.
Kung Fu Movie Night: Saturday September 10th, 5:00PM
At 5PM, we’ll be showing Kung Fu Panda 3 (rated PG). At 6:30PM, we’ll be showing The Magnificent Butcher (rated PG-13). Please bring a few dollars to contribute for pizza. Don’t forget chairs; camping chairs/lawn chairs/deck chairs all work great. We have a new projector, so hopefully there will be much less squinting this time!
Auburn School Grand Opening: Saturday September 24th, 10:00AM-2:00PM
There will be no Kung Fu or Tai Chi classes in Maynard on Saturday September 24th. We will be attending the Grand Opening of the Auburn school. Help Sifu Gary and our Kung Fu brothers and sisters in Worcester celebrate the hard work they put into renovating and opening a brand new school in just two weeks! There will be food to share and plenty of Kung Fu!
Friends and family are welcome! Students who want to rank should have their sign-offs completed and their sash fees paid by September 12th. Sash fees are $35.
International Chinese Martial Arts Championship: Saturday October 1st, 8:00AM-6:00PM
This year’s tournament will be taking place at the Fore Kicks Sports Complex in Marlborough. This is the largest Chinese martial arts tournament in the Northeast, and it is right in our own backyard! Registration forms are available at the school. Competitors may also register online. Pre-registration deadline is September 9th, after which registration becomes more expensive. This is a large tournament with competitors from all over the US and even other countries. If you plan on participating, you should be practicing your forms outside of class AT LEAST once per day!
As always, please talk to Sihing if you have any questions or concerns!
